When you explore locations on journeys it's possible to encounter a quest, it's like a small assignment with a prize. The first one is in meadow you get a box and you're told not to open it and if you do the quest eventually fails and doesn't continue. there is another quest in pond where you help someone and need a tool for it.

I explored pond and forest many times and no rod yet. Does anyone have the same issue?

It takes some time to find it but not so much, did you initiate the quest before you tried to look for it?

Yes, the quest is active, Moss is waiting for my help. I've sent my little friends for about 10 times till then and no luck.
Humm could be just bad luck thing I seem to get it quite a lot. try pond and forest this is where I got mine. Of course you'd still have to succeed the journey each time for a chance of reward. I also got a spare rod if you still need one. (probably gifted like 3 by now hehe)
·If anyone happens to get a spare, I'd love one <3

Thank you!!
I still have one if anyone else is interested
In case it helps, I found my rod before being able to access the Pond so fingers crossed most of us will find it naturally before getting the quest anyway.
I have one too message me if u need!
