How does it work? Learning higher tier traits?

I know that in order for common Kins you need more playdates with other pets if they are higher rarity than you. For example, I'm trying to teach Channie (frog) flying skill. I've been doing multiple playdates with the same playmates - how do I know when I'm nearing the stage where rare trait can be learned? If a common pet has a rare trait and I play with them, is it easier to get that trait since the playmate is common as well? Or does it not matter, because it's the TRAIT that it rare, not the pet?

wish i could tell you otherwise, but after maxing out multiple pets in traits i can tell you: you need to spam plays with otherss that have the traits you still need. epics and legendaries will most probably need north of 100 tries. (i got 1 legendary trait across all my commons, all of my pets have all the other traits, except for the freshly hatched pets, obviously)
Okay, but that doesn't explain: 1) where do we see the amount of credits we have with each playmate, or even how many playdates we had with them 2) if a playmate of common rarity has super high tier trait - let's say, a Fox with 'magical' trait - do you have a chance to earn this 'magical' trait from them faster than you would from a Stag? Since Fox is common and Stag is legendary?

1) you can see how often you played with a pet when you look at the "possible friendshippoints" 2) sadly, no. the chance to get a trait is determined by the rarity of the trait, not the rarity of the pet. if you want to maximise with pets that have full traits, i can give you Oberon and Nessa to play with, Jen has Sakura with full traits...

Ah, okay, I see. No shortcuts to rare skills, lol I actually am playing with both Oberon and Nessa, just not with all of my Kins, and yeah, I've been bothering Sakura a lot already xD Since we don't need to return playdates for traits alone, I figured it's fine.
You can open your kins profile in My littlekin page and see all the playmates with their friendship points for tack. As for traits I think it's based on the trait rarity rather than the pet's. Actually it's in the guide: A learned trait keeps its original rarity when taught onward. A Common pet teaching Cosmic still teaches a Legendary trait. Every trait can eventually be learned through enough playdates. Edit: whoops Manus already answered the question ^-^

just keep at it. don't bother spreading the plays, just spam on 2 candidates. that's what worked for me. tho i have trouble finding cosmic on people, cuz sakura is on journeys so much xD

well, yeah, but i need 2 per rest cycle, i have a few pets that already have eternal but still need cosmic.
@ Eskarine You can also use the drop-down menus in the playdate section to target specific traits you want; it will give you the list of littlekin that have the desired traits. You can also go by species as well and spam that way. I found it easier to favorite the littlekin I want to do playdates with and then hop around there. That way you have an instant list of friends to scroll down. :D Good luck!

Yep that's how I do it.
